Study Abroad

Overseas study provides a rich opportunity to more fully understand our global society and interact first-hand with various cultures, communities, and models of social welfare delivery. Incorporating an overseas study experience into your BSW degree plan is easy with early preparation and advising. We strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment with the social work advisor, Colleen Rose , AND the IU Office of Overseas Study during your freshman year to begin planning for your overseas study experience.

Once you are in your core social work courses during the junior and senior year, it becomes very difficult to do overseas study in the fall and spring semesters. Many students opt to do a study abroad program over the summer or add an additional semester of study.
