Transfer Students

IUSSW has a long tradition of welcoming transfer students. Check out the information below to learn more about the transfer process at IU Bloomington.

We encourage you to sign up for a campus visit and a Transfer Tuesday. Have questions? Email our academic advisor, Colleen Rose (rosec@indiana.edu).

TSAP Students

Deadline to apply for Fall admission to the IU Bloomington Social Work TSAP program: June 1.

  • Applicants must complete both the IUB Application and the IUSSW BSW Application.
  • Students may be admitted to IUB as Social Work TSAP students for the Fall term only.
  • TSAP applicants should review the policies and admission requirements for the BSW TSAP on the IUB TSAP website.
  • Review the BSW TSAP degree map.

Transfer Students (outside IU)

Transfer applicants outside of the IU system should review the IUB Office of Admissions application instructions and deadlines.

  • Make sure to indicate that you are a pre-SWK major on your application.
  • Review our BSW degree requirements and use the Credit Transfer Service to see how your courses may transfer.
  • If you took a course that articulates to SWK-S141 Introduction to Social Work, contact Colleen Rose at rosec@indiana.edu as you may be eligible for direct admission to the IUB BSW program.

Intercampus Transfer Students (within IU)

Are you a student at another IU campus? Check out the IUB Office of Admissions process for students who want to transfer to IUB from another IU campus.

If you are an admitted IUSSW BSW student at another IU campus and want to transfer to another IUSSW BSW campus, contact your BSW advisor at your home campus to request an intercampus transfer to IUB.

IU School of Social WorkPartnerships

Indiana Child Welfare Education and Training Partnership

The Indiana University School of Social Work works in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Child Services to better protect children at risk of abuse and neglect. A key to this collaboration is the creation of the Child Welfare Education and Training Partnership. The Partnership is designed to provide high quality social work education and statewide training for public child welfare employees.

Center for Social Health & Well-being

The Center for Social Health and Well-being is to support and conduct research, evaluation and training programs, in consort with external partners, that can address human and social needs faced by individuals, organizations, communities, and societies.

National Child Welfare Workforce Initiative

Our aim is to help you to understand the Indiana Trauma-Informed Child Welfare Fellowship Program and programs associated with it. We are excited about the practice of child welfare in Indiana.

Institute for Juvenile Court and Corrections Research

Rather than relying solely on textbooks or lectures, faculty, students and researchers will be able to use IJCCR's video library for a unique firsthand experience that is second only to onsite training.

IU School of Social WorkOffice of Education Assessment
